ABOUT ME
Dr. Ejaz Ahmad (Ph.D.), MRSC, is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-ISM) Dhanbad. Dr. Ahmad completed his PhD on the thesis on “Understanding the Role of Catalyst Materials and Process Conditions in Bio-renewable Transformations” in the department of chemical engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (India) under supervision of Prof. K.K. Pant, Prof. M. Ali Haider, Dr. PVC Rao (GM, HPCL Green R&D Center), Prof. Andreas Hornung (Director, Fraunhofer UMSICHT, Germany). His research work includes both theoretical and experimental aspects of developing new catalytic routes for biomass conversion to produce building block chemicals and fuels via synthesis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts. Owing to his outstanding research, two of his research articles has been chosen as the "Cover Page" article by "Green Chemistry" journal.
Earlier Dr. Ahmad obtained his B.E. in chemical engineering in 2010 from Jiwaji University Gwalior followed by a certificate course in entrepreneurship management from IIT Delhi in 2011. Dr. Ahmad also worked in various industries in different capacities for few years before joining IIT Delhi again for M. Tech in chemical engineering in 2013. He joined CRE lab in 2015 as a doctoral student where he finished his Ph.D. in 2019. He is a recipient of Prime Minister Research Fellowship from DST, CII and HPCL R&D Centre, GYTI Award from Honourable President of India, DAAD Binational Research Grant, American Chemical Society Travel Grant, DST international travel grant besides several other awards. Dr. Ahmad also loves reading and writing poems.
